Stoptober – the 28-day campaign from Public Health England that encourages and supports smokers across the country to quit smoking for good – is back for the seventh year in a row!
Stoptober is the biggest mass quit attempt in the country and is based on research that if you can stop smoking for 28 days, you are five times more likely to stay smoke free for good. Stopping smoking is the best thing smokers can do for their health and for those around them.
Everyone’s quitting journey is different, but with Stoptober quitters will not be on their own. By joining the thousands quitting smoking with Stoptober people can get all the support they need to help on their journey to becoming smoke free.
Stoptober offers a range of free support to help people on their quitting journey including motivational e-mails, peer to peer support through Facebook Messenger and lots of encouragement from the Stoptober online community on Facebook. Smokers can also track their progress, see how much they’re saving and get daily support wherever they are by downloading the NHS Quit Smoking app.
